Scott Newman
Founder & Home Advisor
As the Founder and Home Advisor at Home Valet Pros, Scott is driven by a simple mission: to make homeownership easier and more manageable for busy families. After facing a string of costly emergency repairs in his own home, he realized that a little preventative maintenance could go a long way-and that’s what inspired him to launch Home Valet Pros.
Scott believes homeowners deserve a reliable partner to help stay ahead of routine maintenance and knock out the growing to-do list. His hands-on approach and passion for customer service are at the heart of everything HVP stands for.
When he’s not working with homeowners, you’ll likely find Scott spending time with his wife and two kids, enjoying the very home life he helps others protect.
Will Tugwell
Maintenance Technician
Will grew up in eastern North Carolina. From an early age, he was building decks and landscaping for his father’s company. He worked as a maintenance tech at the properties his mother managed which led to him stepping into home repairs and mechanic work in his career.
Will finds it rewarding helping people, and helping others better understand the importance of quality home repairs. He has over 15 years of experience in the handyman field.
When not working with Home Valet Pros customers, Will can be found out on the golf course or hiking with his wife and two dogs.
James Hutson
Maintenance Technician
James started his maintenance career not too long ago by working at apartment complexes and achieving a strong grasp of what the maintenance field is all about.
He currently has over two years of experience and strives to improve and learn as much as he can. James enjoys helping people whenever possible inside and outside of work.
When not working James can be found hiking the Shenandoah mountains or driving around in his Mazda Miata!

A Message from Our Founder
Dear Homeowner,
Home Valet Pros was built from personal experience and a passion for dependable, high-quality service.
After spending 16 years in the customer service outsourcing industry, building a company from the ground up and leading it through a successful exit in 2024, I found myself focused on something much closer to home: my mom.
She had a growing to-do list with things that needed to be done around the house – small repairs, basic maintenance. When I asked why she hadn’t called me for help, she said, “I know you’re busy and I can handle this on my own.” That stuck with me.
She tried finding handymen or local contractors to do the work. She’d make appointments and the person wouldn’t show up. Some showed up but didn’t complete the job, some had hidden fees. There was no consistency, and no one she trusted to take care of things reliably…which was a concern for me too.
That’s when the idea clicked: What if there was a service built for people like her – people who want to stay on top of things at home, but don’t have the time, tools, expertise, or trusted help to do it themselves? Not another app that sends a different freelancer every time, not a big box store offering handyman services on the side.
And as we started sharing the idea, we realized this wasn’t just a solution for people like my mom. Most homeowners – busy professionals, parents, even landlords or second homeowners – struggle to keep up with routine maintenance. Life gets in the way, things get put off, and before long, small problems turn into expensive repairs.
We set out to build something better – a company that offers scheduled visits, trained and vetted technicians, and consistent, high-quality work, done with the same care and attention we’d want for our own families.
So, we created Home Valet Pros – a modern, proactive home maintenance service that combines handyman support with premium customer care. Whether it’s changing filters, sealing a drafty door, cleaning out your dryer vent, changing a light bulb, or just knocking out a to-do list that keeps piling up, we’re here to make homeownership easier and more manageable – one visit at a time.
